You've probably heard that writer’s life is lonely. What I take that to mean is that, when you are writing, it is very hard to get feedback that what you are writing is at all worthwhile. Imagine how thrilled I was to receive this mail from the Director of the Hamburg Public Library last week:

“Just finished reading your book. I couldn’t put it down! Looking forward to your visit in March.”
